About

This blog is run by Walker Syachalinga who uses his connections to southern Africa to raise awareness of human rights and the rule of law in the region. Walker was Called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in London and has worked in London’s legal publishing scene for a number of years. Having grown up in Zambia, he is aware of the challenges created by the range of laws inherited from southern Africa’s colonial past and the very present influences of poverty, globalisation, religion and traditional African customs. The purpose of the blog is therefore to raise awareness of human rights and the rule of law by reconciling the challenges faced by the regions covered with developments in the common law.
