This blog is run by Walker Syachalinga who uses his connections to and experience of growing up in southern Africa to raise awareness of human rights and the rule of law in the region. Walker is aware of the challenges created by the range of laws inherited from southern Africa’s colonial past and the very present influences of poverty, globalisation, religion and traditional African customs.

Walker was Called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in London after a career as a legal researcher and law reports editor. He is currently undertaking an LLM in International law at University College London with a particular interest in business and human rights.
